John Kosar, director of research, Asbury Research
March 2nd, 2015
In the past two columns for CNBC Pro, I discussed the bullish implications of the February breakout in technology stocks from months of sideways investor indecision, and how my November unmet upside target in tech bellwether Cisco Systems might help the market to get there.
This week’s focus is on March-April seasonality in the stock market, another reason that suggests last month’s rally still has legs.
You will hear market commentators either treat seasonality like it’s the “Holy Grail” during years that it’s in sync and working, or discount it as a fable when it’s not.
But the truth is, it’s neither. It’s just statistics. And I’ll take statistics over opinion all day.
