Tracking The Analysts On TV:<br>Which Ones Are Making Good Calls?

Posted on: Thursday, September 12th, 2013

Instead of publishing a research excerpt from one of our premium reports, as we usually do in this space, this week we’d like to introduce you to a unique website that we recently came across because we think it might be valuable to you.

The website, Talking Head Tracker (click the link to visit their website), is a small business with a unique idea: They track the accuracy of the dozens of market forecasts that we get from analysts every day on financial television.

The proprietors of the website (we have no affiliation with them so please contact them directly for further information) filter through the myriad of analyst market calls/predictions that are made on financial television, and then actually track them to determine which ones were correct/profitable, and which ones weren’t.  They use a color coding methodology to differentiate the correct calls (green) from the incorrect ones (red).

Our own John Kosar (the analysts are listed by name rather than by company) is one of a giant list of televised analysts that are listed and tracked there, so feel free to do a search on us or others analysts that you like. I believe the website allows up to 20 free searches before you are asked to subscribe)  Just type the analyst’s name in the search box in the upper right corner of the landing page.

You receive our weekly Research Excerpts postings because you have previously expressed an interest in Asbury Research, presumably because you were or are considering purchasing a financial research product.  There are many of them out there, so give Talking Head Tracker a look — it may be a useful tool for you to determine how to best spend your research dollars.
